Haters are EVERYWHERE

I know I need to get off my soapbox, but this is what someone posted in response to someones request for information on HCG on a dieters website. Maybe its me, but this person does not seem to have tried or know anyone who has tried HCG. This diet does work, too many of us having too much success when we have failed miserably on every other diet for it  not to work. We are not losing weight because of the 500 calories. We all know from experience that until the HCG kicks into our system, we cannot even stick to 500 calories. You would starve.

I promise to let this go, it just bugs me that when people are trying to find out about a diet that they may need in order to lose weight to save their lives, this is the information they are being given and when someone tries to give them a positive spin on the diet it is being flagged and erased.
Since 1975, the FDA has required labeling and advertising of HCG to state: HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or "normal" distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.

HCG's principle current promoter, Kevin Trudeau, is a convicted felon, scammer, and con artist. Twelve clinical studies conducted from 1959 to the 2000s have found no effect from HCG in promoting weight loss or hunger management. One study has shown benefits, though with significant methology issues. While people may experience positive results when using an HCG protocol, there's no credible evidence to suggest HCG itself is responsible for the results.
While many people report weight loss from HCG, all clinical evidence suggestsweight loss is strictly due to the very low calorie diet (500-800 calories/day) and NOT the HCG injections (Note: <500 cal/day diets have severe side effects including death). Placebo effects may also play a role, particularly in "homeopathic HCG" protocols.
